Meliá Hotels International expands in Indonesia with new Meliá Sentul Resort & Convention Center agreement

Meliá Hotels International has entered into a management agreement for its newest hotel, ; Meliá Hotels and Resorts. Meliá Sentul Resort & Convention Center, will be a five-star hotel, being built in Sentul, West Java Indonesia. The 2028 expected opening will mark Meliá's seventh hotel property in the country, and its first in the newly developing Sentul area.

Sentul has become a popular choice among Jakartans, as it has transformed into an attractive lifestyle and recreational venue. To take full advantage of its mountainous terrain and cool weather, the development has closely integrated residential and recreational opportunities.

Located within the Bogor Regency, near a number of popular tourist attractions including hiking trails, numerous waterfalls, the Sentul International Circuit, JungleLand Adventure Theme Park, and established residential and commercial districts supported by excellent access via road and close proximity to the Sentul International Convention Center.

This resort will be built for all types of travelers, including those traveling on a leisure or business basis. Restaurants in the resort will have a variety of dining options available for guests, from 24/7 to breakfast, lunch, dinner and a rooftop bar and a lounge area.

Leisure amenities will include an outside swimming pool, fully equipped fitness center and spa. Families with children will have special amenities at the resort specifically for them (ex. a 'Kids Club') to make their stay more enjoyable.

The property's substantial capacity for meetings or events (for example, a 1,160 square meter grand ballroom and 15 meeting spaces of a total of 1,640 square meters) will enable it to be one of the leading destinations in the area for conferences, corporate and social events.

Meliá Hotels International's Managing Director for Asia-Pacific, Ignacio Martín, considers this project as a major strategic step in the company's expansion into Indonesia, due to its proximity to Jakarta, natural surroundings and the area's continually improving infrastructure make it an ideal location for travelers from all over the world.

Meliá and the Saraswanti Group have strengthened their longstanding partnership through this new agreement. Meliá has been involved with the Saraswanti Group since 2013, when they started working collaboratively on INNSiDE by Meliá Yogyakarta (owned by Saraswanti, managed by Meliá).

Noegroho Hari Hardono, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Saraswanti Group, is confident that the new partnership will support a shared vision of bringing internationally benchmarked property developments and creating long-term value for both companies. According to Bogat Agys Riyono, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Property Division at Saraswanti Group, the global reputation and management expertise of Meliá are strong points of the partnership.

With this most recent signing, Meliá Hotels International is further expanding its footprint in Indonesia, continuing its commitment to sustainable growth and providing elevated hospitality experiences in key destinations throughout the country.
