Indonesia has been awarded 47 hotels and resorts from the 2026 Michelin Key list of the Global Michelin Guide.
The news was welcomed by Indonesia’s Ministry of Tourism, which said the achievement will boost Indonesia’s position as a competitive and sustainable international tourism destination.
The 2026 Michelin Key list was published on 18 September 2026 following inspections undertaken in more than 9,000 establishments across the world.
3 Michelin Keys for Three Indonesian Resorts
Three Indonesian resorts have been awarded the top accolade of 3 Keys, described by the Michelin Guide as “An Extraordinary Stay.”
They are as follows:
NIHI Sumba, East Nusa Tenggara
Amanjiwo, Central Java
Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, Bali
2 Michelin Keys – 11 Properties Earn
The “Exceptional Stay” recognition of 2 Keys was awarded to a total of 11 hotels and resorts in Indonesia.
Most are in Bali including Amankila, The Apurva Kempinski Bali, Soori Bali, Capella Ubud, Bvlgari Resort Bali, Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay, Buahan, a Banyan Tree Escape and Raffles Bali.
Outside of Bali, the 2-Key properties are Four Seasons Hotel Jakarta, The Langham Jakarta and The Sanchaya in the Riau Islands.
33 Hotels & Resorts Awarded 1 Michelin Key
The other 33 properties earned one Key for being “A Very Special Stay.”
Besides the 2 and 3 Keys categories, the 1-Key recognised properties are located in Bali, East Nusa Tenggara, Jakarta and other Indonesian destinations.
Some of them are The Legian Seminyak, Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan, Jumeirah Bali, The St. Regis Bali Resort, Amandari, Viceroy Bali, Bisma Eight Ubud, Desa Potato Head Bali, Nirjhara and Samsara Ubud.
Other 1-Key properties include Plataran Komodo Resort and Spa, Cap Koroso, Hotel Tugu Lombok, Innit Lombok, Collection Resort and Spa Labuan Bajo and Taaktana Luxury.
The properties in Jakarta include Raffles Jakarta, The Dharmawangsa Jakarta, The St. Regis Jakarta, Park Hyatt Jakarta and The Orient Jakarta: A Royal Hideaway Hotel.
Indonesia Logs Second-Highest Total of Michelin Keys
Indonesia has the second-highest number of hotels to receive Michelin Keys in 2026 after Thailand, according to the Tourism Ministry.
Indonesia also increased its presence from 33 hotels and resorts in the 2025 Michelin Key list to 47 in 2026.
Indonesian Hotels Also Recognised by The World’s 50 Best Hotels
The Ministry of Tourism also highlighted Indonesian properties on the 2026 The World’s 50 Best Hotels list and longlist.
Desa Potato Head Bali placed 21st while NIHI Sumba was at 35th. Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, Bali was 61st on the extended list.
The Michelin Key recognition is another feather in the cap of Indonesia’s growing international reputation for luxury accommodation and hospitality.
