You are invited to take the front stage position to become a part of a current cultural movement as you engage in the Seychelles Wave Dance Competition as a participant of the Danny Faure Foundation. This is in commemoration of a dance that comes with an undertone of “beat from the ocean” and “culture from Seychelles.”
The competition reveals the skills in the dancers because they are expected to perform their acts in relation to the elements, which are flow, unity, power, and life in the islands. Whether classical, contemporary, or a fusion of both, one thing is for sure: you have to perform your dance routine according to the theme, which is the wave.
The contest opens through entries till 30th January 2026, so that the dancers get ample time to prepare for their performances. In return, apart from recognition, the participants will get a chance to win valuable prizes in cash:
1st Prize: SCR 75,000
2nd Prize: SCR 50,000
3rd Prize: SCR 25,000
Beyond a competition, this event fosters artistic development, cultural pride, and excellence in the Seychelles culture. Whether you have a passion for dance and a desire to be part of something greater, the Seychelles Wave Dance Competition is your opportunity.
