Morocco Plans 10,000+ New Hotel Rooms by 2027

Morocco is adding to its hotel capacity with a major room additions and upgrades program that will add or upgrade more than 10,000 hotel rooms by 2027.

The program responds to Morocco’s ambitions for a growing tourism sector, including major international events, as it is set out to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup, which Morocco hopes to share with Spain and Portugal.

The envelope of the program is 4 billion Moroccan dirhams, backed by the state, and eligible tourism-accommodation projects can borrow between 3 and 100 million dirhams, to be repaid over 12 years at most with a two-year grace period.
